Animal Farm's sugar snap peas!

In the Austin Farmers' Market....

SATURDAYS
Drop in this weekend to enjoy the selection for your fresh kitchen and for your Mom (next week is Mother's Day)! Arnosky Family Farm has all you need to satisfy your flower Mother's Day needs with their fresh, locally-grown bouquets and check out the Cocoa Puro chocolates! Add to your Mom's Day list some Sticky Toffee Pudding quiches for Sunday brunch, or tamales for a Latin flair with fresh strawberries. There're gifts handmade by friendly artisans and peruse the body products or the steaks and root beer, while enjoying spirit throughout the market.

THURSDAYSThis is the only multi-farmer mid-week market in Austin! While it is about 1/3rd the size of the Saturday market, there are still plenty of farm crops, meats, breads, pestos and sweet goodies to satisfy your local shopping habits. There are also lots of fine prepared foods like Mediterranean and tamales to come eat, shop, and take a break from the traffic.

NOW IN SEASON
Vegetables: Tomatoes are in, come early! Lots of summer squash, and still root crops, greens, potatoes, asparagus, lettuce mixes and stir fry mixes. Sugar Snap Peas for a short season!

Fruits: Strawberries and blackberries galore!

Nuts: Hersh of Indian Hills Farm will be back next week with great pecans.

Meats: FRESH CHICKEN now offered at the Market! Fresh, never frozen chicken is coming from right in Travis County from Barnison Farm in all types of cuts and Cornish Game hens! Bison, beef, pork, sausage, bacon, and eggs. Thunderheart Bison is only one of two producers in the U.S. that conduct field harvests with respect. Bison health benefits include more omega 3 than salmon and great levels of beta carotene and CLA.

PLEASE BRING CLEAN CARDBOARD EGG CARTONS TO THE MARKET; these can be reused by the smaller 'yard' egg farmers. Bring them to the farmers selling eggs--they'll gladly take them off your hands.

Dairy: READY, SET....GOat CHEESE is available!! "Maid" in the Shade Farm is back! West Wind Goat Dairy is back!

Baked Goods: Get Texas French Bread's habit forming ciabatta and baguettes. Brownies, sticky rolls, muffins, sweeat breads, cookies, granola, biscotti, and baklava. Sticky Toffee Pudding has returned to offer their signature STP, scones, quiches, and johnny cakes. Check out the new offerings.

Flowers: Don't get corporate flowers from far-away places...especially for a locally inspired Mother's Day! Buy the special summer flowers from Arnosky Family Farm in the Texas Hill Country. Get really long-lasting flowers, locally grown.

Plants: Vegetable starts, herb plants, trees, ferns, cacti, ornamentals, and herbs have arrived.

Assorted: Gazpacho, pestos, soups (TRY THE SWEET PEPPER..yum), fresh made salad dressings, chocolate, and preserves and salsas. Congratulations to Tom Pedersen of Cocoa Puro (Kakawa Chocolate) for making the SAVEUR Magazine's top 100 list! What an honor for the sooooo delicious chocolate original that he makes--it's there every week on Saturdays, so check it out!

Ready-to-Eat: Breakfast and lunch fajita tacos, tamales, savory kolaches (back in summer), quiches, soups, Ethiopian food, Mediterranean items and coffee. LOTS of rehydrating drinks, including: hibiscus tea (Nile Valley Herbs, Maine Root organic root beer on tap and water sold at the Information Booth. Iced and hot coffees at Texas Coffee Traders.

Crafts and arts: Specially designed t-shirts, soaps, paintings, jewelry, soy candles, cloth purses, aprons, yoga mat holders, clothing, and clayworks. Gifts of all kinds that are handmade, LOCAL, and sold directly by the creator!

Services: CAFÉ AREA by the band, great for people watching and music aficionados; accupuncture and massage (ahhhh...) under the trees in the park.

We are a local growers-only market featuring more Central Texas farmers than ever who only sell what they grow, raise or catch. Satisfy your connection to the food you eat and meet the farmers directly! No farmers carry other farmers' produce--they only have their own. See descriptions of Austin Farmers' Market farmers and other vendors with contact information at our vendors list on the website.
