In the Austin Farmers' Market....
Welcome back and also a hello/howdy to these folks, coming in 4/30: Combs Gardens with beautiful squash, Annie Taylor with exquisite handmade and artistically styled home products from her newly established, Annie's OMNIUM, and Isabel De Blanc to do portraits. Annie's OMNIUM is a gathering of drawings, paintings, prints, painted objects, dresses, embroidery, toys, and posters all crafted with her hand. She has art degrees and visual merchandising acumen that will make her booth a visual delight to the eye, as well as offering items that you can use to beautify your life.
Not Here 4/23: Aster's Ethiopian Food, Tres Rancheros Emu and Oasis Gardens.
Who's coming soon? Pork and milk-fed beef, sausage, pizza, pies and more farmers.
Vegetables: YUM. New potatoes, snow peas, shelled peas, romanesco, asparagus, young yellow and zucchini squash, apricot-colored cauliflower (looks too good to eat!), carrots, broccoli, kohlrabi, greens of all kinds, cilantro and parsley, tomatoes, peppers (a few), cabbage, Chinese cabbage, bokchoy, green onions, fennel, lettuce, beets, turnips, fresh herbs, spinach, and radish.
Fruits: Strawberries from Bikkurim and Naegelin Farm and dewberries (the wild cousin to the cultivated blackberries).
Meats: Bison, beef, emu and eggs. Smoked salmon. Soon there will be pork and veal and sausage.
PLEASE BRING CLEAN CARDBOARD EGG CARTONS TO THE MARKET; these can be reused by the smaller 'yard' egg farmers. Bring them to the information booth at the market.
Dairy: Raw cow milk cheeses.
Baked Goods: Flan from Bikkurim Farm's 3rd generation recipe and eggs, strawberry romanov with Bikkurim strawberries, breads, sticky toffee pudding, johnnycakes, scones, rolls, cookies, brownies, granola, and kolaches.
Flowers: Flowers from Arnosky Family Farm in the Texas Hill Country. Get really long-lasting spring flowers.
Plants: Vegetable starts, ferns, cacti, ornamentals, and herbs.
Assorted: Chocolate, preserves, salsa and honey.
Ready-to-Eat: Tamales, savory kolaches, granola, quiches, Ethiopian food, coffee, fruitful waters (low-sugar), and hibiscus tea. Water sold at the Information Booth.
Crafts and arts: Specially designed t-shirts, soaps, paintings, hand died/spun wool, woven shawls & socks, jewelry, soy candles, cloth purses, aprons, yoga mat holders, and clayworks. See Annie Taylor this week, who will have a number of artfully embellished homegoods made with her stylish creativity.
Services: CAFÉ AREA by the band, great for people watching and music aficionados; Massage (ahhhh...); and portraits by Isabel Goode-DeBlanc are a good memento.

Spring crops are plentiful right now, with summer crops trickling in for the change of the seasons!

Welcome back and also a hello/howdy to these folks, coming in 4/23: Angela of Creatlery with her new baby, Aster's Ethiopian Catering, Tres Emu Rancheros, J.C. Taylor of Taylor Farm (celebrating his 89th year on this planet), Party Animals with face painting, Central Texas Fiber Arts Coop, and Penguinville Purses (she had the flu). Casis Elementary School will be selling their harvest from the school garden.
There will be a bunch of environmental groups coming in for Earth Day - Diggin' It Festival, to form an expo of informational booths. Don't miss solar cooking and the Plant Mobile!

Our old friends that are in new for this year, welcome! Nile Valley Herbs Tea and Tecolote Farm. Brand-spankin' new to the market, please welcome The Farm at Montesino Ranch(organic vegetables).
