We must always have a larger proportion of farmers to other vendors to make this a successful venue for family farms and to fulfill our mission of sourcing fresh, local, nutritious food directly to families in Austin and the surrounding area from farmers. Thus, our categories for artisans, prepared or value-added foods is full. We have had a banner year for expansion of our farmer category, so for the time being, we are also full in our farmer category for general field crops! We would still like farmers to call or write about their desire to enter the market, but you may have to wait for a slot later this year. We have recommendations on where you might find a market, so please contact us regardless.
For artisans, prepared or value-added foods, you may submit an application for consideration but there is no guarantee that there will be any spots available this year. We only accept one to two new vendors in the food category per year. You must be the one who makes the product and not be a ‘distributor’ or reseller of a product/art/etc. We do not accept service vendors, e.g. massage, readings, chiropratic, etc.
In order to be considered, please download the vendor application from to the left. Please DO NOT SEND MONEY for the application fee, just send the application. DO NOT GO OUT AND GET YOUR LICENSES either, until you know you are accepted at any market, or if you are already operating a business. When we think there might be a spot opening up because there is an increase in farmers, we will contact those potential vendors that 1) meet all the criteria for membership in the market; and 2) are the best fit for the overall mix of the market according to their product.
