It is so nice to see the sun upon rising in the past two days (I slept in Sunday) instead of being enveloped with grey, dark, wet skies. I have a particularly pretty view to the east, which is a tree line of old live oaks (some 200 years, some only 100 years old) about 200 feet away, and they wear the rising sun’s orange color like a warm shawl in the winter.
To celebrate the sun, and a very small peek at the spring that is yet to arrive, I made a smoothie of “found” white peaches and strawberries that were frozen in my chest freezer in the mud room. With White Mountain yogurt (local) and some agave, it was delicious.
