Texas Gas Service is proud to host the SFC’s Green Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7th at the Downtown Market. This egg hunt is a celebration for kids of all ages and will feature recycled cascarones filled with grass seed (see below for how you can contribute your used egg shells to the celebration!), live musical entertainment, and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny with photo opportunities. The smaller kids will have a chance to grab eggs and coupons for free strawberries first, followed by a second wave of kids let loose in the green Republic Square Park. In addition to the festivities, Barbeques Galore will be giving away an Odeon natural gas grill at the Texas Gas Booth valued at $649 (entrants need not be present to win)!
PLEASE NOTE! The Easter Egg Hunt starts at 10AM (the market will open at 9am as usual). Don’t be late — children run so fast and all of the eggs may be gone by 10:05!
How to donate your egg shells to the Green Easter Egg Hunt:
- Tap the top with a knife
- Remove the top piece of the egg shell (yeah, you get egg on you)
- Empty the yolk and whites and set them aside for the delicious recipe you’re about to make
- Wash out the egg shell with warm water and set to dry
- Bring the dozen eggs back to to the market in a recycled egg carton and present to the SFC Sky Blue Information Tent
